Just a girl who decided to go for it

I have realized over the years that photography was always destined to be a part of my life. My friends still tease me about the fact that growing up, no matter where we went, I ALWAYS had my little point and shoot camera with me. I was always the “photographer” out of my group of friends, long before I ever actually was one, and they have told me many times that it was only right that I turned it into a thriving business . Growing up, from a very young age, I fell in love with old photographs. The ones my mom kept in shoeboxes and vintage photo albums. You know, the ones with the peel back sticky paper where you stuck the pictures? haha. She had polaroids and all kinds of photographs that you could tell had seen much better days. They were beat up and faded but the memories remained. That’s where my love for filmy photography really started. She sent me on school field trips with disposable cameras and I was just the happiest kid in town lol

Photography REALLY became a part of my story though when I was pregnant with our daughter, Raylen, in 2014. I had a traumatic pregnancy and also delivery experience. I almost lost my life. Photography became my outlet while I was struggling physically and emotionally to get through my pregnancy and then postpartum depression once she was born. I knew, in that moment, it was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life and I haven’t put my camera down since. I’ve been behind my camera professionally since shortly after that and I quit my full time job when she turned a year old, to take on my business full time. I thank God everyday for this journey, the joy it brings me, that it allows me to live the homeschooling momma life I always dreamed of, and for YOU! Without my clients, without you, I wouldn’t be here. So thank you for connecting with me!

I’m an open book. So anything you want to know about me ….. just ask!

I can’t wait to create art with you!

This is my husband, Brandon. We have been married 12 years this year, and together for 14. We married young, at the ripe age of only 19 and 21, purchased our home a year later and started our family a year after that. If you are a wedding client, you will have the privilege of meeting him. He’s the guy with the permanent grease stains on his beat up hands. He’s a hard working blue collar man and there is no denying that. But I love him for it. He started out basically just being my pack mule on wedding days (HAH) but he grew to enjoy second shooting for me. (I taught him everything he knows. No really, I did lol) We love that this has turned into something that we can do together. His true passion though, is firefighting … and getting on my nerves, haha.

My family is everything to me. It’s just the 3 of us, and an angel baby in heaven who we lost in January of 2019. I often wonder who he or she would be today. We also have 6 crazy dogs and a house full of exotic animals and reptiles that we rescued over the years. As well as chickens and a pig outside. I love being at home and am an absolute homebody. Which is good, because house sitting for us would be an absolute nightmare if we ever really went away haha. But it’s the perfect little life for us.
