Just a girl who decided to go for it

I have realized over the years that photography was always destined to be a part of my life. My friends still tease me about the fact that growing up, no matter where we went, I ALWAYS had my little point and shoot camera with me. I was always the “photographer” out of my group of friends, long before I ever actually was one, and they have told me many times that it was only right that I turned it into a thriving business .I grew up with an uncle that was very active in our lives when we were kids. He was always with us and video recording everything we did. My dad likes to tell stories about how I was always obsessed so with the camera. Capturing memories was intriguing to me from a very young age. Growing up, I really fell in love with old photographs. The ones my mom kept in shoeboxes and vintage photo albums. You know, the ones with the peel back sticky paper where you stuck the pictures? haha. She had polaroids and all kinds of photos that you could tell had seen much better days. They were beat up and faded but the memories remained. That’s where my love for photography really started. She sent me on school field trips with disposable cameras and I was just the happiest kid in town!

Photography REALLY became a part of my story though when I was pregnant with our daughter, Raylen, in 2014. I had a traumatic 9 month pregnancy and also a horrible delivery experience. I almost lost my life. Photography became my outlet while I was struggling physically and emotionally to get through my pregnancy and then postpartum depression once she was born. I knew, in that moment, it was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life and I haven’t put my camera down since. I’ve been behind my camera professionally since shortly after that and I quit my full time job when she turned a year old, to take on my business full time. I thank God everyday for this journey, the joy it brings me, that it allows me to live the homeschooling momma life I always dreamed of, and for YOU! Without my clients, without you, I wouldn’t be here. So thank you for connecting with me!

I’m an open book. So anything you want to know about me ….. just ask.

I can’t wait to turn your memories into art!

My family is everything to me. It’s just the 3 of us, and an angel baby in heaven who we lost in January of 2019. I often wonder who he or she would be today. We also have 6 crazy dogs and a house full of exotic animals and reptiles that we rescued over the years. As well as chickens and a pig outside. I love being at home and am an absolute homebody. And naturally, our homeschooling life fits right into the mix. It’s the perfect little life for me.
